Atlanta High School District receives Marks and Scholarship Funds

Newsweek Ranks Atlanta North High School in Top 2%

Newsweek Range Twenty-seven thousand schools side of the nation and North Atlanta High School, part of the Atlanta School District, ranks among the top 2%. Newsweek compiled a list of the top high school and sets out the list at the end of each school year. This year North Atlanta High School has ranked 531 won from 27,000 schools. These rankings are based on the use of colleges and supplies forAdvanced Placement and International Baccalaureate training. Advanced courses are college preparatory classes. The International Baccalaureate, a curriculum with internationally recognized course.

North Atlanta High School offers and encourages students to attend courses and in employment or International Baccalaureate courses through to advanced. North Atlanta High School also operates International Studies and Programs Scene Art Magnet School. The International Studies MagnetProgram offers courses that their own languages, communication and social studies to concentrate. Of the International Studies magnet program offers students the opportunity to participate in a youth abroad and internships in international companies. The Performing Arts magnet program stresses high academic performance to the performance of musical training.

May's high school teacher wins award

At Mays High School, a School District Atlanta schools, teachers receiveClose Up Foundation's Linda Myers's Choice Award for Teaching Excellence in Civic Education. Hajj Womack received a plaque and a thousand dollars. Mr. Womack, a professor of social sciences, was awarded the Close Up Foundation's Linda Myers's Choice Award for Teaching Excellence in Civic Education while in Washington DC with the students participating in the Close Up Washington. AtlantaDouglass High School Central School District receives grants Magic Johnson

Former NBA player Magic Johnson visited Douglass High School in the series of national AIDS awareness. Students of the safe sex talk, the importance of education and their future. He gave the school twenty thousand U.S. dollars for scholarships for high school graduates. Twenty students received $ 1,000 scholarships as part of the Douglass High School Visions of the Future Scholarship Program.
