The High School Reform Task Force

Superintendent Mark Roosevelt announced the creation of Pittsburgh Public Schools High School Reform Task Force. The High School Reform Task Force, composed of leaders from both foundations and upper secondary education, and private enterprises, the development of the hands of experts, parents and community members will consider these principles and determine how best to implement the action plan for higher education in the school reformSchools of Pittsburgh. The Task Force was established to evaluate and reinvent high schools in Pittsburgh, through excellence in the field plan for a reform that provides a roadmap for improving the academic performance of all students in public schools of Pittsburgh.

In an effort to improve the necessary reforms of the education system and the rate of graduates of Pittsburgh Public Schools Superintendent Mark Roosevelt was a recent study by the RAND Corporation found that 64 percent ofGraduates of the School District students. One of the key measures within the competence of any reform plan is to increase graduation rates by 10 points at the end of the school year 2008-2009.

"Develop a plan for a comprehensive reform of the school is one of our key initiatives in the coming years," said Roosevelt. "With the changing economy, we must improve the scientific rigor and preparation of our students have the best chanceSuccess in the workplace and in higher education. Superintendent Roosevelt is expected to present a comprehensive plan for schools, the reform of the Council in April 2007.
