Financial Assistance to Study in New Zealand

Scholarships

Scholarships and Fellowships provide significant recognition and financial reward for students who continue on to university for success. The Scholarship Committee of the NZVCC manages a wide range of nationally available undergraduate and postgraduate awards to students who wish to study in New Zealand. Study opportunities that these scholarships are provided critical if the financial support for individual students is becoming increasingly difficult, to obtain. TheFellowships are available from the contributions from foundations, individuals, governments and industry funded.

Student Loan

Student loans are the costs to all students, financial aid for study in New Zealand at the highest level. Even persons who have certificates among students for a government student loan. While the students are studying full-time, the loans are interest free and when students have completed their studies are the repayments made by theInland Revenue Department which are income-related.

Student Employment

Depending on the length of your course you can work for up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and full time during the summer holidays.

You can work part time while studying full time, under certain circumstances to meet course requirements for practical work experience, or during the Christmas and New Year holiday period if you are in a full-time course of study lasting 12 months or more.

You can work up to 20 hours in a given week during the academic year, if you're in full time education or training at a private institution or tertiary institution and at least two academic years to complete your education in New Zealand. You can use a New Zealand qualification that for points under the Skilled Migrant Category, or want to lead at a secondary school full year of study in years 12 or 13, provided that you have written permission from the schooland written consent of your parents or in a full-time study of at least six months at a private training establishment or tertiary institution, working in part-time in New Zealand. Your Visa or immigration officer must be convinced that the main objective of the course of the study is to develop knowledge of the English language, and an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall band score have (5.0 or higher General or Academic Module), or at a tertiaryat least one academic year duration as part of an approved tertiary student exchange program.

There are various forms of financial assistance available in New Zealand to study. Students can be financed by contributions from various grants from foundations, individuals, governments and industry. Government-funded student loans available to students depending on the course. You can also work part-time, depending on the length of the course.
